Here is the perfect drink to
accompany that BBQ, picnic, get together or just a treat. It is also the
perfect excuse to fill out your home bar. This Sangria Blanca was enjoyed by
Barbara on her trip to Spain. Enjoy!
Sangria Blanca
Serves 12
4 bottles Spanish Albarino
2 cups Licor 43
1 cup limencello
½ cup Domaine de Canton
12 whole cloves 6 cinnamon sticks
24 mint leaves
1 orange, thinly sliced in 12 half wheels
2 cups mixed berries
3 bottles caca, preferably Freixenet (a Catalonia
sparkling wine)
In a large container, combine the wine, liqueurs,
cloves and cinnamon sticks. Let rest for 1 to 2 hours. Remove the spices and
pour the mixture into a pitcher for easy serving. Place 2 mint leaves, 1 orange
slice and a few berries in each of 12 tall glasses. Fill the glasses about half
full with the wine mixture. Just before serving, pop the cava and top off the
glasses to about three-fourths full.
